I have been thinking about pursuing a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. I think it would be my best chance to get to go abroad and experience life outside my home country while also being able to work. However, I have heard some mixed opinions on the career, with some saying it’s great and others saying it’s not and that comes down to the pay. Because getting a TEFL certificate is expensive, I wanted to get some feedback from others to see if it’s worth it before spending all that money.

TEFL work often pays kind of badly, but it’s an ok thing to do if you don’t have better options, of ir you’re trying to spend some time travelling while bringing in enough cash to cover basic expenses. I wouldn’t want to think of it as a career.
